Description

The Oregon Section of ASME invites you to attend an engineering education workshop on the subject of Engineering Ethics.

WHERE: Wilsonville Library; Oak Room – 8200 Wilsonville Road, 97070.

DAY & TIME: Friday, October 26th; 8:30 AM – 12 NOON. 3 Hours of education content time.

COST: $150 per person

Light refreshments will be served during breaks.

During this workshop you will review the case study titled; Incident at Morales. This short film will be followed by group discussions on many the major issues raised.

OUTCOMES:

  • Overview of history of ethics
  • Ethics related to engineering
  • ASME Code of Ethics and other professional codes
  • How to develop a framework to ask questions related to making professional choices
  • Case Study: Incident of Morales and other cases to challenge thinking on the topic

Event Facilitator: Colleen Kennedy, Oregon Section Chair. Ms. Kennedy has 30 years engineering experience in design and manufacturing environments. She completed her bachelor’s degree from Boston University and master’s degree from Oregon Tech, Wilsonville; both in Manufacturing Engineering. She served for 7 years as a national leader in CATIA 3D software training & education through the national professional user’s group COE. Recently she served for 4 years as a group leader for the Oregon Section of ASME.
