Event description

Description

Please join us to discuss the importance of arts education in the Orcutt Union School District. We are hosting a special breakfast on Friday, October 13th for school, community, business leaders and arts advocates to create awareness and strengthen support for arts education.

As you know, the state budget crisis forced many districts to cut or eliminate arts programs in recent years. The California Alliance for Arts Education has launched Arts Now Communities, a program that supports advocacy efforts in over thirty California communities. The Orcutt Union School District, Orcutt Children's Arts Foundation, and the Alliance have partnered to convene business partners, advocates and community parent organizations to work together for arts education.

The Orcutt Union School District and the Orcutt community place a high value on the importance of arts in our schools. That’s why we have joined this statewide network to advocate for arts in education. We hope you will participate in this breakfast conversation about the importance of creativity and how the arts impact our students. This is an excellent opportunity to bring our partners together to embrace and broaden support for quality arts education in Orcutt schools.

QUESTIONS: Ali Bailey, abailey@orcutt-schools.net or 805-938-8966

We are proud to join together in hosting this event and look forward to seeing you at the breakfast.

Sincerely,

Dr. Deborah Blow, Superintendent, Orcutt Union School District
Ali Bailey, Executive Director, Orcutt Children's Arts Foundation
Robin Hampton, Field Manager, California Alliance for Arts Education
