About this Event

KCD is partnering with the City of Bothell to enhance Parr Creek. Volunteers will plant trees and shrubs and spread mulch around them along the creek.

The Southern Resident Killer Whales that call Puget Sound home are critically endangered. Our orcas face numerous challenges, including malnutrition, polluted waters, and stress from boat traffic. If we're going to save the most iconic species of the Pacific Northwest, we must act now.

Join King Conservation District and the City of Bothell on Puget Sound Orca Recovery Day to enhance Parr Creek, a tributary to the Sammamish River, by planting native trees and shrubs at a restoration site within the Bothell Business Park.

Parr Creek is home to a variety of wildlife, including ducks, otters, and beavers. However, due to low dissolved oxygen levels and high summer temperatures, Parr Creek needs our help to become more suitable for salmon. Creating healthy streamside habitat will support salmon populations, which in turn, will support our local orcas! Come out and support this restoration project in your community!
