Event description

Description

Opportunity. Equity. Health. PCC's 25th Anniversary Symposium.

Celebrating 25 years of "making health happen."

Disparities in health outcomes are often the result of inequitable socio-economic circumstances. The PCC works to support all people in leading healthy lives with the recognition that people who experience racial, gender, and other inequities are likely to experience poorer health outcomes. This conference will explore the many different ways health inequities are apparent in our health care system and how to lift up opportunities to create more equitable, person-centered systems and culture of care delivery.

Morning and Afternoon Breakout Sessions:

Behavioral Health Equity
Generational Health Equity
Population Health

Keynote Speakers:

Niall Brennan, President and CEO of the Health Care Cost Institute (HCCI), former Chief Data Officer for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). He is responsible for overseeing HCCI’s advancements in price transparency and public reporting, increasing both the comprehensiveness and access to HCCI’s expansive data set, as well as working with state policy and decision makers to improve their health care systems.

Michele Lent Hirsch, Author of Invisible: How Young Women with Serious Health Issues Navigate Wor, Relationships, and the Pressure to Seem Just Fine - 4.5 stars on Amazon, “A well-researched account . . . At a moment when women’s experiences in the workplace have come to the fore, Hirsch’s eye-opening study of gender-based disparity surrounding illness will hopefully help spawn a similar reckoning for women’s health.”
