Paul Andrews was named President and CEO of the National Western Stock Show and Complex in November of 2010. Andrews oversees the business operations, staff and venue development for this multi-year event complex and home of the National Western Stock Show, held every January. Andrews, along with his management team, staff and volunteers, has increased revenues by nearly 9 million dollars and grown the yearly number of events at the complex to 250, up from 120 in 2010. The National Western Stock Show, 16 day event, has a $100 million dollar economic impact to the Denver Metro area, making it one of the most important events to the state of Colorado and surrounding Rocky Mountain region. The annual agriculture, entertainment and educational event is deemed the super bowl of livestock shows and host to over 42 states and 34 counties in agricultural trade, sales and education. Andrews leadership of the National Western Stock Show as a non-profit 501©(3) provides over 80 scholarships each year to students in the field of agriculture and rural medicine.
Andrews and his team are poised for the future of the NW complex as it evolves into a global agricultural and event facility called the National Western Center. The new center will be a 365 day a year celebration of agricultural education and our Western way of life. Equity partners in the National Western Center include the National Western Stock Show, Colorado State University and the City of Denver.
A Colorado native, Andrews was born in Denver, Colorado in 1964. Andrews completed his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wyoming. Andrews began his career with the Denver Nuggets as an account executive in 1990 at McNichols Sports Arena. He quickly rose through the ranks and became the Chief Marketing Officer overseeing KSE properties including the Pepsi Center, built in 1999, NBA Denver Nuggets, NHL Colorado Avalanche, NLL Colorado Mammoth lacrosse team and Major League Soccer's Colorado Rapids. In 2005, Andrews was named Executive Vice President of Kroenke Sports & Entertainment. Andrews is no stranger to breaking ground on major entertainment venues. He was an intricate part of the development of the Pepsi Center and Dick's Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, as well as the Altitude television sports network. Andrews’ innovative business tactics helped create TicketHorse, the in-house ticketing provider for all of Kroenke Sports Enterprises which sells millions of tickets to events each year. Under Andrews’s leadership, the Avalanche sold out an NHL record 487 home game streak and the Nuggets had their most successful sellout streak in franchise history.
