In this new presentation, Dr. Dane Donohue will guide you through the latest developments in diagnosing and treating patients with Metabolic Syndrome and its related diseases. According to research, approximately 1 in 5 young adults and over 50% of people over 60 have Metabolic Syndrome. This provides an amazing challenge and an opportunity for you, your community, and your practice. Dr. Donohue will guide you through the science of Metabolic Syndrome, as well as new and powerful considerations of the MetSyn model. Course highlights will include diagnosing Metabolic Syndrome and common conditions that are the direct or indirect result of Metabolic Syndrome, conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, fatty liver, and back pain.
You will also learn the critical testing that will help diagnose Metabolic Syndrome. Dr. Donohue will walk you through a new patient process in a 3 step procedure that he calls, Connect-Discover-Respond. In this 3 step process, he will teach you how to communicate with patients about goals and quality of life issues that are preventing them from living their best life. He will also review the testing necessary to perform, including labs and the patient’s “Wellness Score.” Furthermore, he will review how to present a recommended action plan that will help address the patient’s symptoms as well as the quality of life issues. Dr. Donohue teaches in a very open-ended format where discussion and questions are welcomed and encouraged.
