This online event will continue discussions designed to bring together partners in the community – federal government, Department of Defense, academia and industry – to explore the role of artificial intelligence in real-world healthcare settings.
The August installment will feature Gil Alterovitz, PhD, the Director of the National Artificial Intelligence Institute at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). Alterovitz’s keynote address will brief the VA’s work in operationalizing AI in health and discuss the relevance of the agency’s work to current events. This event will also feature a discussion on current events and their impact on operationalizing AI in health led by Adam Cohen, MD, Army Medical Response program manager for APL’s National Health Mission Area, and by John Piorkowski, PhD, chief engineer and Applied Information Sciences Branch head for APL’s Asymmetric Operations Sector.
