Event description

Description

We need your help to restore the new, and not yet open to the public, Forest River Trail Park. Volunteers will remove invasive bush honeysuckle and participate in trail building efforts in this conservation area along the Meramec River in Sunset Hills, MO. Your assistance will help improve water quality, enhance wildlife habitat, improve recreational access, and create a healthier environment for all.

Volunteers will meet at the Highway 30 East Commuter Lot and carpool to the worksite. The commuter lot is located at the intersection of Interstate 270 and Route 30 East (Gravois Rd).

We will provide necessary tools, gloves, snacks, and water for this event. Please wear sturdy shoes and dress for the weather. As a thank you, all Operation Wild Lands volunteers will receive a gift card for a buy-one-get-one-free burrito generously donated by our friends at Chipotle!

This event is sponsored by The Open Space Council in partnership with the City of Sunset Hills and our Sponsors. Trail-building supported by REI, Inc. and invasive removal supported by the St. Louis Audubon Society Cathleen Creley Memorial Conservation Fund.
