THIS REGISTRATION IS FOR DAY TWO ONLY!

Operation:PART (Day TWO, October 13th)

Day TWO of Operation: PART will take place at Lakeside High School.

REGISTRATION WILL OPEN AT 7:15am.

(CEUs, RCHs and CLEs being pursued)

Dr. Bruce Perry, Senior Fellow at the ChildTrauma Academy, will be our morning Keynote, discussing 'A Relational Approach to Working with Maltreated Children'.

Objectives:

  1. Summarize basic brain development from a neuroscientific persepctive.
  2. Understand the effects of trauma and neglect, particularly addiction and substance abuse, from a neurodevelopmental perspective.
  3. Articulate the impact of relationships and other experiences on mental health, especially in relation to early childhood development.
  4. Relate and apply strategies for positive relational and mental development for caregivers as well as mental health professionals.

Tracy Plouck, Director of the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services will be our afternoon Keynote to discuss Statewide efforts to address the Opiate Crisis, as well as Trauma Informed Care.

Participants will have the opportunity to choose two of the four following breakout sessions:

  • Prevention: Danielle Dillon (Columbiana Co. CASH Coalition) will talk about the 40 Developmental Assets and what our kids need to succeed.
  • Awareness: Dr. Nicole Labor (Associate Director of Addiction Medicine, Summa Physicians). This presentation will focus on the neurobiology of addiction—How do we define it, where does it come from, what effects does it have on the brain, and how we can best treat it.
  • Recovery: Individuals and family members in the Recovery Community will discuss what has kept them on the path to recovery.
  • Treatment: Panel will spotlight many evidence-based treatment practices currently in use within our community.


Cost: $15 General Admission

$25 for those needing Continuing Education Credits

As always, this event is free to High School Students, as well as family members of those stuggleing with addiction, and those in recovery.

Breakfast, Lunch and afternoon Snack will be provided.
