Description
The Open Space Council's 50th Annual Operation Clean Stream kicks off this year with a special winter clean up on Saturday, February 18th. Operation Clean Stream is our premier event in which annually, along with the help of our volunteers, we've removed thousands of scrap tires, yards of debris, and other litter out of Missouri streams in order to improve the overall quality of Missouri's waterways. Join us this year as we anticipate another successful year of impacting Missouri's open spaces!
Do you want to help clean up the Meramec Watershed? You're in the right place! Sign up for Operation Clean Stream today and help us restore this open space to great condition, removing trash and debris.
Our clean up will be on Saturday, February 18th from 9am-noon. Check in and registration is at 8:45am. Volunteers will meet at the Earl Widman County Park parking lot and walk to the worksite. Please dress for the weather and wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes. Due to the terrain at the clean up site, we ask that all volunteers are at least 18 years old. Work gloves and tools will be provided. There is a port-a-potty on site.
A picnic lunch will be served after the clean up. Camping chairs are recommended for your comfort.
In case of severe inclement weather, this event will be moved to Saturday, February 25th.
Special thanks to Missouri American Water, American Water, Missouri Stream Team, Metropolitan Sewer District, and so many more for supporting this event!
