Frequently asked questions

How long is each Leg?

Each leg is about 10 miles. That's right, 10 miles. Hydrate!

How long does it take to walk 10 miles?

We estimate it shoud take just over three hours.

I want to participate but I can't walk 10 miles.

On memorial day, there is a shorter leg that is 2.5 miles. You will not receive a shirt or a medal but you can still come out and walk.

Do I have to be a veteran?

No, this event is open to the public. We encourage everyone to come out, bring a friend!!!

There is no minimum age to participate but must have parent/guardian consent.

Do I have to sign any kind of liability waiver?

Yes, every participant will sign a liability waiver before the start of their leg.

What should I bring?

Comfortable shoes, whatever that means to you. Some sort of protection from the sun like a hat. Keep in mind temperatures in the Nevada desert can easily exceed 100°. Most of the areas will be remote and you will not have phone service or access to a restroom.

What kind of services will Rebel Vets provide?

We will have a safety vehicle, we will also provide some snacks and water but we encourage you to bring a reuseable water bottle (probably not a camel back since you'll be caring a backpack full of dog tags).

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

There will be transportation provided to get to your designated start point from the parking areas besides that YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE for your own transportation to and from the event.
