Description

Soloist - IRINA KASIMOVA - soprano.
The repertoire includes arias from the works of Verdi, Rossini, Mozart, Bellini, Rachmaninov and others.

The concert will be attended by Van Vinikow (violin), Marina Roznitovsky-Oster (harp), Nataly Roznitovsky (concentrator), as well as LYNNE CRAY.

Ticket price - $25. For students - $20. If you are a student, and buy a ticket using this website we will reimburse you the $5 difference.

About the artists:

Irina Kasimova

soprano

graduated from Tchaikovsky National Music Academy( Kiev Conservatory), Ukraine, with MM.

She was awarded an Honorary Diploma in an International Voice Competition in Kiev-Vorzel, Ukraine, and has the Diploma from the Ukranian Humanitarian Fund for a significant creative contribution to the development of Ukranian Culture.

Since moving to Reno in 2012, she performs with various regional organizations and teaches piano and voice.

Nataly Roznitovsky

Nataly received her MM in piano performance and pedagogy at Nikolayev’s Pedagogical University, in the Soviet Union. She worked as an accompanist at the Nikolayev Ballet school for five years and then for five more years in Haifa School of Dance, Israel. Nataly has been teaching piano privately, for all levels since 1980 and speaks English, Russian, Hebrew and Arabic.

Nataly taught music therapy in a special education school for over twenty years in Israel. She also enjoyed performing in a hotel lobby for 20 years, in the only hotel in Haifa that had live music. During that time, she produced three solo albums. Since moving to Reno, NV in 2017, she continues teaching and performing regularly in our region.

Marina Roznitovsky Oster

A native of Ukraine and raised in Israel, Marina started musical training at the age of 5. She focused on the harp at the age of 12, giving her first concerto performance just a year later. She has performed with professional orchestras in Europe and in the US, and some of her performances were broadcast on national Israeli and US television and radio. She studied with several world-known harpists and received her three degrees in Harp Performance from Indiana University, under distinguished professor Susann McDonald. She is currently teaching at the University of Nevada Reno and operates a large private studio. Marina is the principal harpist with the Reno Chamber Orchestra and the Reno Philharmonic.

Lynne E. Gray, Ph.D.

Dr. Gray received her Ph.D. from Stanford University in 1984,
and retired from California State University, San Jose in 2003
as Professor of Mathematics and Division Head for Teacher
Education. Dr. Gray devoted much of her academic and
research career to the improvement of mathematics and
science education, especially for minorities and women. She
managed numerous university-school partnership programs
and several large Federally funded grant projects in the San
Francisco Bay Area. Dr. Gray served on the Board of the
National Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators, was
President of the California Mathematics Council and remains in demand as a speaker on
Mathematics and Science Education. Since moving to Reno, she has focused most of her
attention on the Arts, serving as President of the Nevada Opera Guild, VP for Education of both
the Reno Aviation Museum and the Nevada Opera. Dr. Gray is currently President of the Board
of OLLI at UNR and teaches classes there in the Arts, Mathematics, and Economics, as well as
currently serving as Vice Chair of the Board for the Institute for Young Dramatic Voices.
