About this event

Join two local talents currently making their mark on the international music scene in an intimate soirée of song. Set in Brookshire Farm's stunning Music Room, the event will begin with a one hour concert followed by a reception and an opportunity to meet the artists. Ticket price includes admission to the concert and reception, along with fine wine and hors d'oeuvres provided by Brookshire Farm.

Brookshire Farm is situated on a picturesque 360 acres of prairie in Meaux, Louisiana, near Abbeville. Surrounded by a grove of majestic live oaks, the Music Room is in the 180 year old home of Ben and Anne Blanchet. Its renowned pipe organ was built in 2011 by Noack Organ Co. of Georgetown, Massachussets.

Opéra and Apéritif is part of the Live at Brookshire Farm Concert Series.

Tickets must be purchased to attend. Mailed invitations are not tickets.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS

Bass-baritone André Courville is a star on opera stages throughout the world. His voice has been called “jaw-dropping”, “supercharged”, “splendid”, and “lush” by Opera News, “warm” and “rich” by The Washington Post, and “imposing” by The Philadelphia Inquirer. Recent and upcoming engagements include debuts with the most celebrated opera houses in France, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, China, and the United States.

Highlights of previous seasons include performances with Zurich Opera, Opéra National de Bordeaux, Opera de Rouen Normandie, Cincinnati Opera, Dallas Opera, Santa Fe Opera, Arizona Opera, Kentucky Opera, Spoleto Festival USA in Charleston, the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, the Columbus Symphony Orchestra, Caramoor Music Festival, Karlsruhe’s Badisches Staatstheater in Germany, and Opera Lafayette in New York City and at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC, among others. He has also appeared at Carnegie Hall numerous times since his debut there with Opera Orchestra of New York.

Trained at the prestigious Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia, the Cecilia, Louisiana native has been honored with the ABC Fund's Rising Star ICON Award. He is also recipient of top awards in eight national and international vocal competitions, including First Prize in Los Angeles’s Loren L. Zachary National Vocal Competition and Top Prize in New York City’s Gerda Lissner Foundation International Vocal Competition.

Lyndsi Maus is classical pianist and native of Franklin, Louisiana, who after completing a Master of Music degree in Piano Performance from the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, then moved to Graz, Austria to further her studies with world-renowned pianist, Julius Drake. During her studies she won several awards, including the Pianist Prize at the International Brahms Competition and the AIMS Graz Accompanist Award. In 2019, she completed a second Master’s degree in Vocal Accompaniment. Lyndsi continued her work with singers at the Nuremberg State Opera in Germany as part of the Opera Studio from 2019-2021 and will begin a new position at the Theater Regensburg in September as a full-time vocal coach.
