The exhibition Winter Holidays in Russia uncovers the rich story of the country’s winter holiday traditions, from the late Imperial period to the present. Drawing upon the collections of Kim Balaschak and Susan Johnson, the exhibition presents a remarkable selection of over two hundred holiday ornaments and related materials.
Greeting cards, posters, paintings, gift boxes, and sculpted figurines of Grandfather Frost and Snegurochka add to the richness of the presentation.
Winter Holidays in Russia will be on view in the Lower Gallery, November 19, 2016 – January 22, 2017
