One Day on Earth is the result of an effort to use the Internet to amass footage from across the globe and turn it into a free online archive and feature-length film while building and maintaining “a global online community.”
This epic ‘time capsule’ was created from footage collected by amateur videographers around the world on Oct. 10, 2010 by Kyle Ruddick and Brandon Litman, two graduates of the University of Southern California. Kyle Ruddick, a Topanga resident for many years has said he came up with the idea of documenting every corner of the world on a single day after attending a world music festival and watching various sonic styles mingle.
Topangan Kyle Ruddick who founded the project and helmed the monumental task of working over 3,000 hours of collected video, assembling it into a cohesive, poetic and profound work of art is thrilled to be able to share the film with our community, and what better place then the Theatricum. Many Topangans have participated in the film and will be on hand to celebrate.
Filmmaker Kyle Ruddick will be on hand to introduce the film and discuss this amazing journey.
