FEATURING: HanaLyn

Nicknamed "The Blonde Bombshell" and dubbed "the Anita Baker of Spoken Word" for her take on relationships, HanaLyn tackles the complex issues of love, sex, race, and cultural bigotry through her lyrical poetry and powerful spoken word.  Born in Baltimore, she moved to NYC after graduating school.  She performed at the legendary CBGB's and quickly carved out a niche for herself on the spoken word scene from Harlem to the Village to Queens. Now home in Baltimore, HanaLyn has released two CDs – Between the Lines and Revolutionary: The Blonde Bombshell. She has regularly featured throughout Maryland, Philadelphia, and DC at such venues as the Art of Conversation, Storytellers, Be Free Fridays, Bare Soul, Busboys and Poets, and Spit Dat, and was a featured performer at the 2010 National Underground Spokenword Poetry Awards (NUSPA). In 2012 she performed in the Women of the World (WOW) festival at the Meyerhoff Symphony Hall, and was a featured performer in the “Voices and Choices” showcase at both the Creative Alliance and Center Stage. She is currently preparing for the release of her third CD, Legends.
