Kanniki J

"When reality is heard in the form of spoken word, KaNikki J is speaking. Listen, and you just may hear the truth… and you can handle it”

Given the name KaNikki, being interpreted as “great writer” at birth, KaNikki is living up to her name. With over twenty five years of writing and over a decade on the poetry scene, KaNikki Jakarta has shared the stage with Jill Scott, Raheem DeVaughn, and Lyfe Jennings. She has toured the US and the UK and as a result, KaNikki’s spoken word performances are sought after by poetry fans all over the country. Her voice has been heard on stages from churches to theaters and on radio waves of 96.3fm 95.5fm, 96blx fm, Interfaith Voices, 97.5fm and a host of other radio and internet radio shows.

KaNikki J. writes and recites what she calls “real life fiction” that touches her listeners to the core. She says the things that people are afraid to say and encourages truth in her lyrics. Her first spoken word cd is an introduction to the voice that men and women pull inspiration from. The cd, entitled Introducing KaNikki J. sold hundreds of units three days before the said release.

This poet/author has stepped outside of the poetry genre and released two fictional novels: IN REAL LIFE & THE COLOR BLUE, she is currently working on the next installment of the series entitled THE OTHER SIDE OF PRETTY due to release in 2013.

GodChild the Omengodchild is an award winning poet/host from norfolk va. BNV Coach of the hampton roads youth poets, host of fuzzy wednesdays, the mic fiend cafe, the wet poetry spot, conversation over cocktails and lyrically inclined.
