FEATURING HASEEB aka FUTURISTIC: Rhyming out of Los Angeles, CA by way of Buffalo, NY, Futuristic is something fresh. Originally inspired by reading poetry, he learned how to deliver his arsenal of words from listening to MCs like GZA, Mos Def, and Black Thought. In the summer of 2009, Urban Underground LA nominated him for Best New Artist. He has performed alongside or toured with acts such as Mos Def, One Be Lo, Elzhi, Canibus, Mr. Lif, and Roc Marciano. Relief on the Runway (ROTR) has been in the business of producing fashion shows since it was founded in 2011 by Executive Director, Suraya Mahumed. ROTR uses fashion to build interfaith bridges while raising funds for humanity.
Our New York Fashion Week & LA Fashion Week Platform, known as Relief on the Runway™, features designers latest collections while raising funds to aid, empower and sustain women and children nationally and globally. We aim to inspire like minded individuals to donate to a wonderful cause while also enjoying themselves at our events. In the last 4 years, ROTR has had the support of Azizah Magazine, IStyle Modesty, the Syrian American Council (LA), UPLIFT Charity, Shaam Relief Foundation, Islamic Relief USA, as well as local and international designers such as Dian Pelangi (Indonesia), Citra Style (Dubai), Ajmaan (South Africa), Rayan (California), IslamicGems (New York), Couture Swim N Sport (Chicago), Amalina Aman, Cover Me Beautiful LLC, La Merveille by KD, Sabika Seattle, Islamic Design House, SixteenR, Al Sundus, Covered Girl, Abayage, Veilure Couture, Al-Farah Fashion, Resplendent Fashions and more.
Nahda Designs, founded and hosted the first annual charity event that took place in Fullerton, CA on December 3, 2011 and also helped IRUSA in hosting their first ever charity fashion show that took place in New York, NY on April 28th, 2012 titled, “Relief on the Runway: Attire to Inspire.” Relief on the Runway and Nahda Designs were mentioned in several blogs & magazines, from Aquila Style to Muslim Matters. The show was also featured in an article by Azizah Magazine (Volume 7, Issue 2) and written about online at www.cnbc.com.
