About this Event
In a unique open session, seasoned media trainer Jo Detavernier, SCMP, APR will explain ánd demonstrate key delivery techniques for media interviews.
Two simulated on-camera interviews will take place during the session where trainees will be able to volunteer, allowing participants to see trainees make mistakes and... learn from them.
Trainees will walk away from the training knowing
- how to prepare for media interviews (message maps, Q&As and tough questions among others) [15 percent]
- how to deliver interviews (covering both verbal and non-verbal delivery with special attention to techniques such as key bridging, headlining and flagging techniques) [80 percent]
- how to follow-up after interviews [5 percent]
Learnings will apply to all types of media (print / audio / video) in all industries. Participants will not only see live simulated interviews in action, but the trainer will also share clips from his library that provide telling examples of both good and bad practices.
This workshop offers a unique chance, at an affordable price point, to pick up powerful, evidence-based delivery techniques from a trainer who has helped more than 500 executives from all different sectors perform well delivering interviews in both Europe and North-America.
Light lunch is provided. PRSA Austin members and people who work for local non-profits are eligible for discounted tickets. All subscribers to the newsletter of Detavernier Strategic Communication will receive a coupon as well by March 21.
