Open Group Cooking Classes
Do you rely too much on takeout and restaurant meals, but think the DIY alternative just seems like too much work? When you do make meals for yourself, does it feel like a huge production, with long nights of shopping, cooking, and cleaning every pot and pan in your kitchen? If you answered yes, then my at-home open cooking classes are exactly what you need to start preparing your own clean meals from scratch!
I’ve taught at some of the top cooking schools in Manhattan, but I believe that the best learning experience comes from conquering a meal in a real home kitchen.
Open group cooking classes take place in my DUMBO Loft (a few blocks from the F train at York street). They are limited to 8 people to ensure intimate instruction and a chance for everyone to get their hands dirty. We will make 4 seasonal recipes together start to finish and go over crucial knife skills that will help make prepping a breeze, with far fewer onion or accident-related tears.
THINGS TO NOTE
+ Classes are a mixture of hand-on and demo, including tips for shopping, preparing, and adding more healthy ingredients to your meals
+ All ingredients are local, organic, hormone and antibiotic free when possible
+ Menus are gluten-free with limited dairy and meat; they include enough vegetarian options for a meal
+ Wine is included throughout class and dinner
+ At the end of the two hour class, the group sits down to a meal together around the table.
+ There’s a dog in the apartment. He will not be attending class, but anyone with severe allergies to pets should take that into consideration
+ I’m hosting you in my home as I would any friend or family member, so please treat my space with respect as you would a friend or family member of your own
