Join us on May 20-22, from 12-5pm, as we celebrate the community and work created by the Spring 2016 cohort of the Autodesk Artists in Residence Program at Pier 9. Featured projects include work created by fine artists, roboticists, inventors, designers, and a host of other creatives.

All projects will be installed in the Pier 9 arcade and in Studio 9, located across the drive aisle from the workshop. Projects will not be installed in the workshop, but guided workshop tours will be available at 1pm and 3pm on May 20, 21, and 22. In-person tour sign-ups will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.


FAQs

Is this the only time to see the show?

The exhibition runs Friday, May 20th through Sunday, May 22nd; drop-in viewing hours are between 12 and 5pm, and guests may view the exhibition at any time during this window. Guided workshop tours will be available at 1pm and 3pm Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. In-person tour sign-ups will be available to adults 18 and over, and accompanied minors on a first-come, first-served basis. All tour guests must comply with all workshop policies, including wearing safety glasses and closed-toe shoes. AiRs and Autodesk employees may opt to lead their own tours for family and friends. Everyone without an Autodesk badge must sign a safety and liability waiver.

Youth Workshop Tour Policy

The exhibition is open to youth of all ages. However, workshop tours are limited to those 13 yrs of age and older. All youth between the ages of 13-18 must have a waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian.

Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the Opening Reception?

Every child under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Please be advised that most of the artwork and all of the machinery (only viewable on tours) should not be touched.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

There is no parking at the Pier. There are several parking lots along the Embarcadero at which you may pay to park. However, Pier 9 is accessible via many forms of public transportation listed below:

  • Muni’s F Market streetcar stops in front of Pier 15, at Embarcadero and Green Street, right next door to Pier 9.
  • Muni bus lines 2, 6, 14, 21, 31, and metro rail lines J, K, L, M, T, N stop within walking distance. Bus lines 1, 10, 12, 41, and 38 also stop in the vicinity.
  • Embarcadero BART, Muni stations, and ferry terminals at the Ferry Building are all a 10- to 15-minute walk away.
