Description

Open data - free public data, provided by governments and organizations that anyone can use without restrictions - has become an integral part of our daily lives. It provides citizens, businesses, and nonprofits with critical information to make more informed decisions. This data, along with emerging technologies for managing it, is changing the way citizens, governments, and policymakers make decisions and direct important projects.

Partnering with the Center for Open Data Enterprise, CTG is offering two sessions of a one-day course in which you will learn:

• Critical aspects of data management from data collection to dissemination, including quality improvement, privacy protection, and curation and storage

• How to apply user-centered design to data management

• How to develop strategies for implementing data management best practices in your own department or institution

Instructor: Laura Manley (Center for Open Data Enterprise) assisted by Audrey Ariss.
