Open Call for Volunteers – Orchesis Dance Company
Love to dance? Love being part of a team? Looking for an opportunity to perform?
Orchesis is a NEW San Diego based dance company for adults focusing on one thing, and one thing only: to bring together passionate dancers of ALL levels and to have FUN! A lot of dance companies can be intimidating and inaccessible to people who aren’t professional dancers but Orchesis BREAKS DOWN those barriers with a NO-AUDITION policy creating an opportunity for anyone and everyone to dance and perform in the local community.
Orchesis is NOT a ‘drop in’ class schedule. We’ll be teaching fully choreographed routines over several months with weekly practices as we build, train, practice and perfect them as a team. Orchesis is open to dancers of all levels and we mean it - all you need is a love for dance and a willingness to learn and practice! We're looking for volunteers to both lead and participate as Orchesis committee members (described below)! If you are interested in or MAYBE interested in getting involved and volunteering, join us for all the juicy details on December 4th, 12PM-2PM at Downtown Works(Downtown, San Diego).
We are looking for all sorts of volunteers to help with marketing, membership, partnerships, sponsorships, fundraising, social media, help with the performance coordination, research … there’s something for EVERYONE!
How you can get involved:
Below you will find a description of each of the Orchesis committees and volunteer opportunities. Each committee with be comprised of several volunteers including one committee leader.
Finance committee: Responsible for team finances, dues collection, budget management, sponsorship and fundraising.
Marketing committee: Responsible for Orchesis social media and outreach, performance promotion and member recruitment.
Membership committee: Responsible for Orchesis board meeting minutes, creating and managing liability waivers, monthly member updates, social event planing and MeetUp.com group communication.
Performance committee: The Performance Coordinator will be in charge of all things performance related and responsible for organizing sub-committees to help with key logistics such as venue research, AV Tech, show schedule, photography/video, show runners/ushers, ticketing, etc..
Web: Responsible for maintaining and updating the Orchesis Wordpress website as needed.
Partnerships committee: Responsible for the research and outreach for additional performance opportunities and partnerships within the San Diego community. Creating an adult dance class resource list for members. Liaison between San Diego and guest performance opportunities.
