"OPEN BETHLEHEM" Film Screening at Xavier College Prep in Phoenix, Arizona
The Phoenix Area of the Equesterian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem (EOHSJ), in partnership with Open Bethlehem, cordially invites you to a special screening of the internationally acclaimed documentary film "Open Bethlehem" by Palestinian director Leila Sansour.
The film (90 mins) will be followed by a Q&A with the filmmaker, Father Fredrick J. Adamson (Moderator of the Curia - Diocese of Phoenix) and co-councillors of EOHSJ for Phoenix, Lady Julie Nackard and Sir Frank Rivera.
Open Bethlehem is a story of a homecoming to the world’s most famous little town. The film spans five momentous years in the life of Bethlehem, revealing a city of astonishing beauty and political strife under occupation. The film draws from 700 hours of original footage and some rare archive material.
Since 2014, the film has been screening globally, with tours in Europe, the Middle East, Australia and Canada. The film's screening in Phoenix comes at the start of the film's tour of the USA.
“One of the most remarkable and moving documentaries I have seen about this unreported story. The tragedy of the Palestinians encapsulated in the life of one family and one town - Bethlehem. See the film, then go to Bethlehem and see for yourself.” JON SNOW (Renowned British journalist)
“For some, Bethlehem is myth. For me, it is home and a real place right in the heart of the Middle East - a little town currently fighting for survival." LEILA SANSOUR
