Description

The Washington State Office of Public Defense invites public defense attorneys, contract assigned counsel, investigators, and all other support staff to attend our free 2018 Regional Training. We will cover a broad array of topics that impact criminal defense practice in all case types, and at all court levels.

8:45 - 10:00 Arguing Adolescent Brain Science in Juvenile and Adult Court - George Yeannakis, OPD

10:15 - 11:30 Working with Experts - Ken Chang, Hart Jarvis Murray Chang PLLC

11:30 - 12:45 Luch on your own

12:45 - 1:45 First Appearance Advocacy - Joshua Kellemen and Edwin Aralica, King County DPD

1:45 - 3:15 Calculating LFOs- Judge Linda Coburn, Edmonds Municipal Court

3:30 - 5:00 Ethical Obligations to Immigrant Clients - Sara Sluszka, Washington Defender Assocation


WSBA CLE approval is pending. Application has been made for a total of 6.5 credits - 1.5 Ethics and 5.0 Law and Legal.


Light refreshments will be provided. Lunch will be on your own.
