Online workshop! Grow Your Own Food in November
Event Information
About this Event
In this GFE online class, learn to take full advantage of San Francisco's unique gardening climate, where you can grow your own fruits and vegetables year-round. We're excited to offer Grow Your Own Food as an online workshop so you can turn your social distancing time into food-growing time!
As the winter approaches, you'll learn how to take advantage of San Francisco's rainy season by planting cold-hardy crops such as garlic, peas, and edible perennials. You'll also find out how to troubleshoot common pests and diseases on garden crops and learn other gardening tips and tricks for raising healthy, edible plants.
Don't have a garden yet? No problem! The information presented in this workshop is foundational knowledge for growing food, whether on your windowsill or pots outdoors.
*Please note that this class directly relates to San Francisco's growing conditions, which differ greatly from many other places.
Carey Craddock, our expert instructor, is a horticulturalist who has been gardening and teaching others to garden in San Francisco since 1997. Carey will go over everything you need to know about getting a bountiful return on your efforts in your edible garden.
This workshop will take place on the Zoom platform. It will be recorded only for GFE's archival purposes; it will not be available after the workshop to participants.
