Online Webinar by the LJMU PESSPA & DisSPA Network
Overview
For the 2025–26 academic year, the LJMU Disability Sport and Physical Activity (DisSPA) Network is launching a new seminar series for 2025–26, bringing together researchers, practitioners, and communities to share insights on disability sport and physical activity. Each online session will highlight innovative work and meaningful discussions within the field.
To open the series, we are partnering with the LJMU Physical Education, School Sport and Physical Activity (PESSPA) Network to explore inclusivity in Physical Education.
Dr Alexandra Consterdine will discuss her latest research on parents’, carers’, and support workers’ perspectives of inclusivity for pupils with learning disabilities in PE. The seminar will highlight key themes including perceptions of teacher approaches, peer attitudes, curriculum design, and professional training, alongside practical recommendations for school governing bodies and educational professionals.
This session is ideal for teachers, school staff, coaches, researchers and anyone committed to creating inclusive physical education, sport and activity environments for children and young people.
Join us for an engaging discussion that aims to make PE more accessible and inclusive for all.
