About this Event

Class time / date: 10am - 3PM / Monday, July 13, 2020 - Friday, July 17, 2020

Schedule: 5 daily sessions, Monday thru Friday, for one week

Class size: 16 students maximum

Class length: 5 hours with a break from Noon - 1PM (20 class hours total)

Pre-Requisites: Ages 14-17yo (rising high school students)

Tuition: $350

In this course, we will build on format of Six Degree of Separation. We may use techniques learned from the previous week to explore layering genre(s) on top of it, or we may move to a new format entirely called Montage. It takes one word suggestion from the audience, explores and explodes the meanings and nuances, in order to create a wild mosaic and tapestry of interrelated and unrelated scenes inspired by one inspiration point. Regardless the format, these experienced coaches will create a safe place to creatively explore the artform of improvisation for tne visual medium of Zoom.

About Regina Saisi:

Regina Saisi, a San Francisco native, has been a fixture in the Bay Area theatre community, both as an actor and improviser, for the past 40 years (including teaching improv to teens for over 20 years.) She is a guest artist at CTE, TAM High Schools student-run theatre, where she also directs improvised performances. She has taught improv at Leadership, Redwood, Aragon, San Mateo High Schools, Oklahoma Arts Institute and San Francisco Conservatory of Music.

Regina has been a BATS performing company member since 1988, and has served as BATS Artistic Director and Dean at BATS School of Improv for over 8 years. During that time, she created the Cave Match, which inspired students to create their own improv teams.

The main focus of her work throughout her career has been improvised theatre. She has been deeply involved in the growth of San Francisco Bay Area’s fertile improvisation community, helping to start several improv companies including Improv Theatre, Pulp Playhouse, True Fiction Magazine, and Improv Playhouse of San Francisco. Over the years, she has taught improvisational theatre to literally thousands of improvisers of all ages both nationally and internationally.
