About this event
Scottish music, dance, and Gaelic language have been nurtured on Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia for centuries. In this workshop, we will break down classic tunes from the Scottish and Cape Breton fiddle repertoires, addressing bowing, ornamentation, and feel as we dig into a variety of reels, jigs, strathspeys, and airs. Recordings and sheet music will be provided after class. This class is geared towards fiddlers. Other music instruments are welcome, but please be aware specific instructions will not be provided.
This 6 class session starts Tuesday, November 3rd. Classes will be 6pm Tuesday and will be run on Zoom. Classes may be recorded so that the students can go back and review.
Tickets are based on sliding scale from $75-125. A percentage of profit will be donated to Black P.O.W.E.R. Maine
