Online Print Club
Event Information
About this Event
Join Georgie Fay(Our Head of Education and printmaker) live from her tiny home studio to learn and practice a few simple monoprint techniques inspired by landscape and the natural world.
We will explore techniques like monodrawing, reduction printing, stencil monotypes and printing from natural materials. So you create a wealth of experimental imagery to then use as a starting point for more exploration or making.
You will need: (we try to make our online learning as accessible as possible but there are a few things you really need for printing)
- ink roller
- Ink .......We recommend for monoprinting to invest in some 'Caligo Safe Wash etching or relief ink' (useful links are at the bottom) but you can use water-based block printing ink and even acrylic paint if you water it down a bit (this does dry too fast to get multiple prints)
- Plastic flat surface, like a sheet of acrylic - I like to use a A4 laminated piece of paper
- Natural or textured flat objects, like leaves, feathers or pieces of fabric
- Thin print paper, A4 is fine, or newsprint, calligraphy paper, tissue paper - basically thin paper works best!
- Thicker paper or thin card (cereal box thickness is perfect)
- Scissors
- Pencil/Pen
- Cotton buds, cocktail sticks, old paintbrush
- Images of landscapes or scenes you like from magazines/newspaper
