About this event

Class Date/Time: 2:00-4:00pm PST; Saturdays July 24, 31 & August 7 & 14

Schedule: 4 sessions

Class size: 12 students maximum

Class length: 2 hours (8 hours total)

Prerequisites: Improv experience or Head of School/Coach approval required(email us at bats@improv.org with a concise description of your improv experience for approval)

Tuition: $150

Taught by Brian Jones (Professional mime work in Liza on Demand, Nickelodeon's Danger Force and many commercials and motion capture performances).

This class explores how to make our scene work more real. We'll dive heavily into the environment of our scenes and use spacework as a tool to make improv easier, more relatable, and entertaining.

About Brian

Brian Michael Jones is an actor in Los Angeles.  He has performed regularly with Impro Theatre, improvising countless full length plays over the last 15 years.  His most recent TV/Film work includes Penny Dreadful, American Housewife, Will and Grace, and the upcoming Netflix feature film Mank.  In addition to his TV/Film work, he improvises and puppeteers with Brian Henson's Puppet Up and with Disney's The Muppets.  As a teacher he has taught a variety of improv classes including, Character, Storytelling, Spacework, Genre, and Puppetry.  As a director he has coached and hosted shows for the Pepperdine Improv Troupe, Impro Theatre's Shakespeare Unscripted, Stephen King Improvised, and Rom Com Improvised, and Los Angeles TheatreSports.

 BATS Improv Class Refund Policy:

Class cancellation policy:

  • If you cancel more than 96 hours (4 days) before a class begins, we will refund your tuition less a 15% processing fee. 
  • If you cancel within 96 hours (4 days) of your first class, your tuition will be forfeit.

    Summer Youth and Adult Sessions cancellation policy:

  • If you cancel more than 14 days (2 weeks) before your first class, we will refund your tuition less a 15% processing fee.
  • If you cancel within 14 days (2 weeks) of your first class, your tuition will be forfeit.

 

All cancellation and refund requests must be emailed to registrar@improv.org, and include the title and start date of your class.

In the event that we cancel a class due to insufficient enrollment, we’ll refund your tuition in full.

Please note: In the past, we have offered class credit in lieu of refunds. We are no longer able to offer this option. Each class tuition payment will stand on its own, and is non-transferable.
