Event description
Learn and practice tools for online facilitation using an anti-oppression framework.

About this Event

We spend a lot of time in online meetings and trainings these days and we are learning how that impacts our ability to organize, make decisions, and learn together. We are also learning how to address oppressive dynamics in our group spaces online as facilitators.

If you are someone who facilitates online whether it's a business meeting, an affinity group check-in, or a project planning session, come learn how to create structures and practices that build alignment in your group.

NOTE: This is a grant funded workshop and is for people who live or/and work in Portland.

In this 2 hour workshop we will:

  • Understand how oppression manifests in online group spaces;
  • Share skills for intervening in difficult group dynamics & learn equitable facilitation structures;
  • Develop skills for facilitating and leading groups that move our work for justice and liberation forward.

In order to center the leadership of people of color within our work, we use a progressive registration process and hold half of our registration slots for people of color. If you are not a person of color, please only select general admission tickets. If you are a person of color, you can select any ticket available.
