What are Climate Circles?

Many of us know the overwhelming emotions and feelings that arise when we read the news and deal with the climate crisis. In everyday life, there is hardly any room for all these feelings - not at home, with friends and family, nor at work. We can quickly feel all alone.

inabel and One Resilient Earth invite you to an online "Climate Circle". In this courageous and supportive space, we encourage you to recognize these feelings and share them. We create spaces where we can talk openly about the injustice, exhaustion, frustration and sadness that we experience as people. In the same way, we celebrate moments of joy, hope, togetherness and inspiring experiences.

Climate Circles are meant to be a community care space led by and designed for people concerned by the ecological crisis. It buids upon the principles of numerous community care practices and traditions, from peer support groups to the traditional practice of Indigenous “talking circles” from today's North America, which contribute to:

  • Creating a space for deep listening and being heard
  • Equal appreciation of all voices
  • Telling stories and sharing experiences
  • Formation of mutual understanding, respect and support
  • Appreciation of the gifts, knowledge, talents and experiences of each individual
  • Building community

Who can participate?

All interested community members are welcome. It doesn't matter where you come from or what you do. Whether you work in the fields of art, science, education, technology, industry, finance, community work, or in the social and humanitarian sector, you will find a place in the circle.

The Climate Circles are offered free of charge to everyone.
