Event description

Description

Join Near West Side Partners and Milwaukee Downtown, BID #21 for a special Jane's Walk featuring "One Wisconsin Avenue," with stops highlighting the public art, historic architecture, and new economic development on Milwaukee's main street. The tour is three miles and will end at O'Donnell Park.

Recent unprecedented investment, combined with a series of public art projects, re-established Wisconsin Avenue's standing as Milwaukee's truly grand avenue. Among the projects giving Wisconsin Avenue its street cred were Sculpture Milwaukee, the utility box mural project, a West Wisconsin Avenue audio walking tour, and the Key to Change campaign to end chronic homelessness.

Located just west of Downtown Milwaukee, the Near West Side or also referred to as the "neighborhood of neighborhoods," is made up of seven separate unique neighborhoods, each with its own history. Home to a wide range of businesses and the five Anchor Institutions, this vibrant area has many jobs, thriving businesses, nonprofit organizations, high performing schools, healthcare institutions, restaurants, and entertainment options.

The tour limit is 50 people. Register to secure your spot. You will need to plan how to return to the tour start. There is access to MCTS Routes 30, 30X, and Gold Line at O'Donnell Park. Please bring $2.25 in exact change for bus fare if you do not have a bus pass.
