One Love: Maine
Saturday, November 9, 2013 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM (PST)
Top teachers from across the Maine yoga community will come together to collaboratively teach a two-hour, 108 sun salutations class. The day will continue with community gatherings including music, dancing, sponsor tables, cook outs and more!
In addition to being an event aimed at building community and creating collaboration among our yoga network, this event is focused on raising awareness and funds for important activism projects.
This year, One Love: Maine is hosted by USM's chapter of SETAC (Society for Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry) and, in collaboration with Off the Mat, Into the World (OTM), benefits OTM's Global Seva Challenge: Seva Amazon. Funds will go towards protecting the Ecuadorian Amazon and the indigenous people. Local participant in the Seva Challenge, Off the Mat, Into the World leader, and One Love: Maine director, Allison A. Johnston, hopes to raise $20,000 by the end of the year in order to travel with OTM to work with partners in Ecuador in 2014.
So gather your friends, register, and fundraise for a cause!
