Event description

Description

Like so many people, Craig Hella Johnson was deeply moved and affected by the death of a young gay Wyoming man in 1998, Matthew Shepard. The events surrounding his death 20 years ago created an enormous worldwide outpouring of grief and sense of injustice that continues to reverberate today. GRAMMY Award-winning Craig Hella Johnson and Conspirare choir members will share the story behind creating the GRAMMY-nominated master work “Considering Matthew Shepard” in this intimate evening of song and conversation.

Presented in partnership with the Ford Theatres and Chris Isaacson Presents. The keyboard for the event is donated by Studio Instrumental Rentals (SIR) Entertainment Services.

“Considering Matthew Shepard” will be performed in full on June 15 & 16 at 8:30pm at the Ford Theatres - tickets at https://www.fordtheatres.org/calendar/considering-matthew-shepard

This June 13 preview event is free to attend.

The City of West Hollywood's One City One Pride LGBTQ Arts Festival takes place from May 22-June 30. For more information and to see a full list of events, please visit www.weho.org/pride or follow @WeHoArts on social media.
