Once Upon a Mattress: Presented by the Historic Vista Theater
The Historic Vista Theater invites the public as we follow the story of Princess Winnifred and Prince Dauntless. Will the Queen ever let them get together? And what about Sir Harry and Lady Larken? Will they ever wed? Will both couples live happily ever after? You'll just have to visit us to find out!
This musical retelling of the classic children’s tale “The Princess and the Pea,” helmed by Becky Heldt (Cabaret ’16), is sure to be a great start to what will absolutely be a memorable 2017 at the Historic Vista Theater. Leading the way in this star studded cast is, reigning PAAC “Supporting Actor of the Year,” Aaron Carlson (Beauty & the Beast) as the hapless Prince Dauntless, and, 2016 “Newcomer of the Year” nominee, Abby Letts as the rather unrefined Princess Winifred. Maggie Aartila, 2016 “Actress of the Year,” takes on the role of Lady Larken, and first time Vista performer Paul Schneider will appear as the bold, handsome and almost as egotistical Sir Harry. Other newcomers Cheyenne Chapman and Mary Carter along with Vista stage veterans Tina Nelson, Jacob Laitinen, Craig Grabarczyk, Kaleb Kangas, Adam McGuire, Robert Kemp, Sara Pefretti, Amber Baker, Gretchen Hirzel, Ally Belenger, Karen Kuhnle, Amy Robare, Bethany Rudness and Abby Johnson round out the rest of the cast. Along with Pat Wagner returning to the Historic Vista Theater stage after a few year hiatus as the animated, mute, King Sextimus.
