Description

If you would like to purchase tickets to the weekend workshop with Lynne Twist on Saturday & Sunday, March 23rd & 24th, 10am-5pm, click here.

In her bestselling book, The Soul of Money, Lynne Twist examines how our attitudes toward money—how we earn it, spend it, and invest it— can offer surprising insights into our lives, our values, and the essence of prosperity. She examines how a dysfunctional relationship with money can hold us back from achieving our highest potential and realizing our loftiest goals. She explores a pathway to transforming our relationship with money—replacing feelings of scarcity, guilt, and burden with experiences of sufficiency, freedom, and purpose.

For more than 40 years, Lynne has been committed to alleviating poverty, ending world hunger, and supporting social justice. From working with Mother Teresa in the slums of Calcutta to guiding the philanthropy of some of the world’s wealthiest families, Lynne’s diverse on-the-ground work has brought her a deep understanding of people’s relationship with money.

Join CIIS Provost Liz Beaven for a transformative conversation with Lynne about the extraordinary power money wields over our lives and how we can empower ourselves to re-conceptualize money as a tool to realize our best selves.

Lynne Twist is a recognized global visionary committed to alleviating poverty, ending world hunger, and supporting social justice and environmental sustainability.

From working with Mother Teresa in Calcutta to the refugee camps in Ethiopia and the threatened rainforests of the Amazon, as well as guiding the philanthropy of some of the world’s wealthiest families, Lynne’s on-the-ground work has brought her a deep understanding of people’s relationship with money.

She is the author of the best-selling, award-winning book The Soul of Money: Transforming Your Relationship with Money and Life which has been translated into nine languages including Korean, Chinese, Vietnamese, French, Spanish, German, Japanese, Bulgarian and Portuguese.

Liz Beaven, EdD, has been  actively engaged in questions of education for most of her life and has spent over 30 years in Waldorf education. Her work as a classroom teacher, school administrator, adult educator, and researcher developed a conviction in the need for fundamental change in how we typically  educate our children. This led her to CIIS, where she is working to develop a new  graduate program in integral teacher education, contextualizing core principles and practices of the Waldorf approach within a contemporary landscape of equity, access, social justice, and the essential question of true preparation for the rapidly changing, unknown future that will belong to today's school children.
