Add some order to your abstract art! Explore ways to add a sense of both atmosphere and place in your work. Use the "Rule of Thirds" to place and define a horizon line with techniques such as grids, ascemic writing, painterly lines and more. Use that line to create depth with color and tonality.
We’ll begin our paintings working with Golden fluid acrylics, building our paintings with thin glazes of color. Then we'll learn different mark-making techniques using high-flow acrylics and fine-line applicator tools. We'll incorporate pan pastels and charcoal marks into the compositions adding complimentary colors or emphasizing tonality.
Students receive lots of personal attention and guidance in a supportive and creative environment. Your completed painting will truly be your expression.
A materials fee of $20. is payable to instructor at first class and covers most supplies. Students will use their own brushes and canvases or supports. Individual handouts include instructions and color photographs; explanations and examples of the various techniques demonstrated in the workshop.
Class size is limited so register early!
