In this 2 part course, students will have the opportunity to learn how to shoot macro nature on location, as well as receiving feedback and sharing images with their peers.
On Saturday, March 11th class will meet at Volunteer Park at 11am (consider arriving 5-10 min early to find parking and group. We will meet at the sculpture in front of the Asian Art Museum). As a class we will go over important settings, tools and tips to shoot excellent images. Students will be able to explore the park and conservatory as a group or individually with hands on practice and real time techniques on capturing the best macro images possible. Our session will end at 12:30pm.
Some of the tools and techniques we will discuss will include macro lenses, filters and extension tubes, lighting and depth of field. Students should have a good working knowledge of their camera, but all skill levels are welcome.
Please contact Glazers ahead of time if you would like to try using macro lenses, close up filters or extension tubes. Tripods can be used in the park, but are not allowed in the conservatory.
Students should be prepared to pay $4 to enter the conservatory.
This is a rain or shine event. In the case of rain, Glazers can provide rainsleeves.
The following Saturday, March 18th we will meet back in the Glazers Camera Classroom (811 Republican St.) from 11am to 12:30pm to review everyones best images. By sharing photos with each other students will be able to see what others unique perspectives were, as well as offering a second opportunity to learn about different settings and skills.
