join us in a conversation between masters, as they share with us why we do yoga, what we gain from a kundalini practice, teachings of ancient wisdom as combined with contemporary life, and why we belong in community.
Hari Kaur Khalsa
Hari is a world renowned master teacher of Kundalini Yoga and Meditaiton as taught by Yogi Bhajan. For ten years, Hari worked alongside Yogi Bhajan, Master of Kundalini Yoga, directing his teacher training programs. Hari is part of the first wave of yoga teachers that pioneered the teaching of Kundalini yoga and meditation in the west.
Hari directs and teaches Kundalini classes and Teacher Trainings, Level 1 and Level 2, in the US and abroad. She is the former Director of Education and Training of Golden Bridge NYC (2007-2009), bringing new students to the study of Kundalini in NYC and creating breakthrough programs and classes. Hari pioneered teaching Kundalini Yoga in high schools and was the director and developer of Kundalini Yoga wellness programs at Newton-Wellesley Hospital in the Greater Boston Area from 1987-2004.
Having written “A Woman’s Book of Meditation: Discovering the Power of a Peaceful Mind” (Penguin 2006) and co-authored “A Woman’s Book of Yoga: Embracing Our Natural Life Cycles” (Penguin 2002), Hari is also an accomplished author.
Inspired by the powerful Kundalini teachings for women, Hari founded The Illumined Woman courses, instructing and empowering women at all stages of life.
Elena Brower
Mama, teacher, speaker, and co-author of Art of Attention, Elena has been teaching yoga and meditation since 1999. After graduating from Cornell University in 1992 with a design degree, she worked as a textile and apparel designer for 6 years, and has been studying with master yoga teachers since 1997. Elena offers yoga and meditation as a way to approach our world with realistic reverence and gratitude. Her classes are a masterful, candid blend of artful alignment and attention cues for your body, mind and heart.
From the Museum of Modern Art to the Great Lawn at Central Park, from the Old Port of Montreal to the Eiffel Tower, Elena is honoured to offer larger-scale experiences of yoga and meditation, but her true service is in shifting awareness within the smallest interactions; one family, one household at a time. Elena’s two audio meditation courses, 4-week Art of Attention and 7-day Cultivating Spiritual Intelligence, are beloved globally for creating consistent, accessible practice.
Currently Elena teaches weekly and monthly classes in New York City, as well as retreats and trainings worldwide. She is also the founder of Teach.Yoga, a global hub of content and inspiration created by the teachers, for the teachers.
