Overview

mounts and cases are quiet architectures of support — they hold, frame, and protect, shaping how we encounter objects in space.

in this evening program, eric araujo will share his mount-making practice, revealing how mounts physically support and safeguard artworks while negotiating visibility and presence. hiroko ishikawa will discuss the display cases and devices she has designed for various exhibitions at moma, exploring how containment, transparency, and scenography intersect in contemporary exhibition design. the evening concludes with a movement workshop led by ella dawn w-s, who will translate the idea of “mounts” into the body — inviting participants to explore how we hold, balance, and support ourselves and one another through movement.

hiroko ishikawa is an exhibition designer at moma.
