Description

Bright Half Life by Tanya Barfield, Opening April 14, 2017

In this regional premier, Erica meets Vicky. Vicky meets Erica. Lives collide. Rewind. Pause. Fast forward.

Vicky and Erica are catapulted through a lifetime of love and heartbreak as they navigate an ever-shifting present. Through courtship, children, marriage, conflict and the whisper of mortality, this kaleidoscopic journey chronicles a deeply committed lesbian relationship, and is a stunningly honest depiction of the fortitude and courage it takes to fight for love.

“… is contemporary as a play could be but the theme is classic and timeless. Legal gay marriage has occupied merely a nanosecond of our existence, but the presentation of the highs and lows of coupledom, as exampled in this piece, defy the ages.” —The Huffington Post.

“This well-written portrayal of smart women finding, losing, and finding themselves and each other again, is profound…past, present, and future are contained in each moment, and every one of them feels full.” —The New Yorker.

As always, PopUp Theatre will present this story in an unexpected, intimate (only 60 seats), immersive and modern way. Once this wild ride lands, the audience will discover that we all love, experience lose and life in simular ways. Bright Half Life opens April 14 thru May 13 at R Bar and Lounge, at Laurel and College in Fort Collins.
