About this event

This is an On-Demand screening happening now. Registrants may stream two award-winning films multiple times during the availability window, now extended until Friday December 2nd at 12 midnight (Eastern Time US). Watch at your convenience from wherever you are!

From Seed to Seed (87 minutes, encore!) follows a small-scale organic farming family, as well as a diverse group of Canadian farmers, for a season of challenges and rewards. Experts are working with these farmers using a blend of ancient traditions and cutting edge science to develop improved methods for growing food ecologically and in a changing climate.

This hopeful and award-winning story provides one perspective on a global social movement toward healthy and regenerative farming practices.

“All I can say is WOW!! What a beautiful and informative film!”

“Very engaging film.”

“Beautiful and inspirational! It’s so much more than just farming and making food.”

“Excellent information in this film. This documentary should wake people up to micro climates [and] regenerative farming efforts. Thanks very much to the farmers and the film maker and her supporters.”

Farming the Sky is a short film that features architect Nona Yehia, who designed a new kind of greenhouse in her hometown of Jackson Hole, Wyoming. The building packs a perfectly controlled growing environment into a vertical space located on a sliver of land, the first of its kind in the northern hemisphere. This urban farm provides the local community with super-fresh produce, no matter the weather.

These are excellent films that we are sure you will enjoy. And the best part...

About ForestPlanet

ForestPlanet plants trees where they will have the greatest benefit to the soil, local habitat, the environment, and communities in peril. We hope this event will raise enough funds to plant tens of thousands of trees around the world, which will quickly:

  • Stabilize soils
  • Help the land retain rainwater
  • Provide income and food security to local populations
  • Provide habitat for the region's wildlife

The photos below , taken three years apart in Tanzania, illustrate the amazing transformation power of a properly executed reforestation project.

Trees hold water and stimulate microbial activity in the soil, and food crops help protect soils from direct sun and also retain rainwater. Working together, the trees and the ground crops can quickly restore degraded lands to abundant fertility.
