FAQs for Mid-West On Course Workshop
Is there a discount for early registration?
Yes! You can save $100 by registering before April 1, 2017. And remember, total enrollment is limited to only 50 participants so we encourage early registration. (Don't add to the disappointment in your life by waiting too late!)
What is included in my conference registration?
Everything you need! The only things not included are incidentals and any optional entertainments you choose. You'll get a copy of the On Course textbook, facilitator's manual and the workshop notebook. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included each day except for the third day; dinner is not included since the workshop ends at 4:30 in the afternoon.
Is this the same event as the On Course I Workshop offered near Baltimore/DC and San Francisco?
Yes! Identical... except for the setting... It is conducted by Dr. Skip Downing, the developer of the On Course program using the same format, activities and materials. For more information on Skip: http://oncourseworkshop.com/about/facilitators/

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
We are located one hour from ICT (Wichita-Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport) with car rentals available at the airport.
We are southeast of Wichita, located just a few miles north of the Oklahoma state line on Highway US-77. Coming north from Oklahoma City or south from Wichita, we are 16 miles east of I-35 (Exit 4) on Highway 166. From the north/east, we are 60 miles south of I-35 from Exit 77 at El Dorado; follow US 77 south.
Parking is free at the hotel and on-campus.
The workshop will be conducted on-campus in the Wright Room in the Brown Center. For GPS guidance, enter "215 South 2nd Street, Arkansas City, Kansas, 67005"
What is there of local interest in Arkansas City, Kansas?
Great question! Some of us have been scratching our heads over that one. Here's an answer you didn't expect: in the past two years, archaelogists have found convincing evidence that Ark City is actually the site of one of the largest settlements of indigenous people in North America. Stretching out for five miles and hosting 20,000 residents, Etzanoa was located in the confluence of the Arkansas River and the Walnut River. Preliminary findings further indicate that it could turn out to be even larger. Learn more at:
There's also a very nice wet-season waterfall about 20 minutes east of campus in the Flint Hills: http://www.kansastravel.org/cowleylakewaterfall.htm
How can I contact the organizer with any questions?
Please contact Stefani Jones, Administrative Assistant for Academic Affairs at Cowley College, at email@example.com or call at 620.441.5238.
What's the refund policy?
There are no refunds; with at least 30 days' notice prior to the workshop date, 50% of funds will be credited to next year's workshop. You can send a substitute/proxy in your place at no extra cost.
Are Housing & Meals Included in Resident Registration?
Housing and meals are included in Resident Registration; meals are included in Commuter Registration. If you want to share a room with a fellow conference attender, one of you should register as Resident and the other as Commuter. We do not split housing costs; that will be between you and your friend!
We have reserved rooms with Best Western, located just ten minutes away. (You are welcome to book as a commuter and make other housing arrangements.) This is the hotel link: http://book.bestwestern.com/bestwestern/groupSearch.do?groupId=L31ZD0K7
