Event Details

Fire and Rain takes the songs of James Taylor and applies them in a song-cycle context. While not following a traditional musical theater format, each song is character driven and ensemble supported, making this a theatrical production rather than a concert. Drawing from different musical inspirations and historical musical traditions, the songs span a wide variety of styles, voices, and intensities whilst uniting over a common theme and composer. In a one-act performance, each character/actor has the opportunity to come forward and express their story through different songs and styles emerging from the musical and interactive collaboration between characters. In addition, the individual talents and ideas of the cast are represented through personalized musical conversation.
