Description

Location information: Important!

The event is located at 101 N 10th St, Suite 308, Brooklyn (Williamsburg). To enter the Dame offices, you walk into the coffee shop Marcy & Myrtle: head towards the back where there's an elevator or stairs to get to Dame! Door will be open.

A bit about the event:

Join us for a provocative fun conversation with On Blossoming author, Gia Lynne and Director of the Center for Erotic Intelligence Mal Harrison. Hear directly from the author about some of her experiences and ideas that inspired her to add her voice to the conversation concerning pleasure, sensuality, & empowerment. Hosted by Dame Products, the evening will begin with wine, light bites and community networking followed by a lively discussion.

Tickets for this event are FREE unless you'd like to reserve a copy of the book to pick up at the event itself (and get it signed by the author!). All tickets reserved through Eventbrite provide admission to the event as well as entrance into the drawing for the door prizes given away during the event.

A bit about the book:

This is not your typical sex ed book. Instead of typically puritanical views on sex and puberty, On Blossoming: Frank and Practical Advice on Our Bodies, Sexual Health, Sensuality, Pleasure, Orgasm, and More focuses on incorporating the principles of pleasure into sex education for our youth and creates a new paradigm of human sexuality. This book takes on a taboo topic in our culture backed with a compelling mixture of research and personal experience. Written for people of all ages and genders, it’s time to rework the standard script of sexual education and fill in the gaps. Lynne presents solutions and provides tools for creating positive experiences in the realms of communication, pleasure, and happiness.

A bit about the author:

Gia Lynne is a pleasure-positive writer, educator and personal coach. She realized that while many people wish they had been raised with better sex ed, she actually had that experience. Fascinated by human sexuality and how that connects to our quality of life, she offers a unique perspective on pleasurable living. She has a degree in English Literature from UC Berkeley and is pursuing a master’s degree in Sexuality Studies.

A bit about Center for Erotic Intelligence:

Director Mal Harrison founded the global collective of scientists, doctors, researchers, therapists, sexologists, educators, and activists. Human eroticism is too complex for any one particular area of study to fully encompass. It’s imperative we look to a wide array of disciplines to understand the complexities and components involved. The Center for Erotic Intelligence has curated a phenomenal team with concentrated areas of expertise in neurology, anthropology, psychology, evolutionary biology, endocrinology, kinesiology, anatomy and physiology, history, communication, and education.

A bit about the host:

Hey There!
We are Dame Products.
We make toys for sex.
We think that's awesome.

In 2014, Alex Fine (a credentialed sexologist) and Janet Lieberman (an established engineer and MIT alumna) joined forces to create the phenomenal sex toys we couldn’t find on the market.
