Oliver & S Building Block Dress Workshop
In this class we will work with the new book by Liesl Gibson, Oliver & S Building Block Dress: A Sewing Pattern Alteration Guide. All attendees receive a copy of the book. In the book you will find a full-size Building Block Dress pattern printed on two large sheets of paper and includes sizes from six months to twelve years. Start now and you can clothe your daughter, granddaughter or any little girl in your life for years to come!
This dress has almost endless variations. Gathered pockets or cute flaps, external binding, bias finished neckline or collar, petal sleeve or cap sleeves, A-line or twirly - you will have so much fun designing your own dresses for that little girl!
You will choose the size and style dress you want to make and we will assist you to completion. You may bring your own fabrics (2-3 yards, with scraps for contrasting pockets, collar, etc.), or purchase some in our shop at a 15% class discount. Some machine sewing experience helpful. You may bring your own working machine or use one of ours.
From Liesl Bibson: "The Building Block Dress is a typically well-drafted Oliver + S pattern. Even if you don’t make any alterations to it, it’s a pretty, classic dress style that you could enjoy sewing again and again."
$45 per person - appropriate for adults (ages 14+)
REMEMBER to bring a sack lunch and beverage, as we will take a short lunch break and continue working!
