Event description
A spring weekend of WALKING in Maryland, DC, and Virginia on the East Coast Greenway. Don't miss this SPECIAL EVENT!!

About this event

Walk thirty-eight colorful and scenic miles of the Greenway from College Park, Maryland through Washington and Alexandria to George Washington's Mount Vernon estate. Do as much or as little as you choose - one day or two. This is a destination walk....

We will base ourselves in Old Town Alexandria, with its shopping, history, architecture and trendy atmosphere. We've arranged several hotels offering special rates for those registered for the event. The links to this information will go out early January, so please register soon. There are also other options in the area - B&B's and more.

At the end of each day we love to celebrate! We can't say where yet, but will have more information as time goes on.

Please understand the $25 registration is non-refundable.

SATURDAY: 20 miles from College Park to Alexandria on the greenway.

(The Metro from Alexandria will deliver us directly to our starting location.)

SUNDAY: 18 miles starting in Alexandria (near the hotels) walking to Mount Vernon and back. If you prefer a shorter route, you can do a 10 mile walk and take a water taxi to return.

This walk is a fundraiser for both FreeWalkers and the East Coast Greenway Alliance. The East Coast Greenway is working hard to complete the trail of 3000 miles from Maine to Florida for walkers and cyclists.
