Old City Comedy Presents: Comedian Vince Martin Thursday August 5th, 2010 Knoxville, TN
Thursday, August 5, 2010 at 8:30 PM (EDT)
Born and raised
in New Jersey, Vince's career began in New York City, where he quickly
made a name for himself and performed at the city's finest clubs,
including Comic Strip Live, Stand Up New York, and the renowned
Caroline's on Broadway.
A self-described "recovering Yankee", Vince then moved down South, becoming the house emcee at Myrtle Beach's Comedy Cabana before taking his act on the road. Within just two years of his stand-up debut, he was featuring at clubs throughout the Southeast, and Vince now performs at clubs, colleges, casinos, and military bases across the country.
Vince's distinctive perspective on American life and politics combines with a laid-back, friendly delivery to create a wickedly clever and wildly funny act. His eye for the absurdities of modern politics and his unique writing style leave crowds in stitches. Audience members have called him "hilarious" and "hysterically funny", while bookers have labeled Vince "brilliant" and a "rising star". Intelligent yet silly, Vince's act is a hit in the North and the South, for crowds of all backgrounds and tastes. He now lives in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Opening the show will be Knoxville's Sean Chidester and featuring for the first time with Old City Comedy in his last Knoxville appearance before he leaves town, Nick Edgman!

Old City Comedy is an underground stand-up comedy series based in Knoxville, Tennessee's "Old City". The show was started by Comedy by the Beach founder Matt Ward after relocating from Carolina Beach, North Carolina to Eastern Tennessee in the summer of 2009.
Underground comedy simply means comedians are not censored and no topic is off limits. Our only rule is "Keep it Funny!". We strive to provide an alternative to the traditional PG/TV friendly stand-up comedy shows that most comedy clubs provide.
Old City Comedy traditionally happens on the first Thursday of each month at Patrick Sullivan's in downtown Knoxville. The shows happen upstairs on the same stage graced weekly by Einstein Simplified (every Tuesday).
Tickets for Old City Comedy can be purchased at the door for $10 or you can plan ahead and save a little bread by clicking on the link next to the event date to the top right of this page.
